Bye bye
A Quiet Friend by the River
She came without a name,
a quiet soul by the riverbank.
No fence, no cage—just trust.
She stayed through mornings and still evenings,
eating only amaranth,
waiting without asking,
resting at the pillar
as if she belonged.
I watched her come and go,
never asking why.
Today, she left quietly—
no splash, no sound.
Just a space by the river
and a silence I recognize.
Maybe she’s gone for good.
Maybe not.
But I’m thankful she came,
and that for a while,
we shared the same peace.
