Teratai putih
Let be a pure white lotus,
Unfolding in muddy stream.
Let all the gloom and misery
Be gathered in my sweet dream
Let the petals open slowly,
Bathed in dawn’s forgiving gleam.
May hate dissolve and sorrow fade,
Like shadows passing in a dream.
Rooted deep in muddy waters,
Yet untouched by all unclean,
The lotus stands in silence bright—
A symbol of what might have been.
